Whilmeta Pauline Jack served in the Navy as a nurse in Boston, Massachusetts, and San Diego, California.1 She obtained the rank of Lieutenant (junior grade) and was honorably discharged in 1953.1

Jack was born Whilmeta Pauline Barringer to Nova A. and Aaron Moses Barringer near Dongola, Illinois.1 She attended Saint Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1943.1 In 1948, Jack married Alexander Jack, and they had two children together.1 She worked as an operating room nurse for thirty-five years in Albuquerque, NM.1
